A new Auberge resort has opened up just outside of Santa Fe, and by all accounts, it is a stunningly beautiful property.
I am looking forward to making a trip out to the property to experience a spa treatment and give a review of my experience.
From the website of Encantado "An Auberge Resort"
"Set against the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Encantado is an oasis of serenity, privacy and luxury. It has been designed to be a destination of wellness and rejuvenation, tapping into the mystic energies for which the New Mexico desert is famous. The resort masterfully complements the breathtaking northern New Mexico landscape with the tranquility of 65 elegantly designed casitas, renowned spa and fine dining, creating an amazing and unique experience that could only come from an Auberge Resort."
The spa offers a very comprehensive treatment menu and features locally sourced ingredients in the treatments, including Blue Corn, Honey, Chili, Adobe Clay/Mud, Sage, Juniper, Aloe, Apricot, Apple, and Pinon. While every treatment sounds enticing, I am looking at the Blue Corn & Honey Renewal -- a hydrating wrap that also includes a foot and scalp treatment and a massage afterward, very nice!!
Also, for New Mexico residents, the spa has a great opening offer "New Mexico Spa Two-For-One": Book by December 20, 2008 and get a second service of equal value on the same day at no charge.
So, you can take a friend or special someone along and only pay for one treatment, or treat yourself to two luscious spa services on the same day, your own private mini-retreat!
To book your spa retreat at these special prices, call the Spa at Encantado at 877.262.4666. You can download the full spa brochure here.

Upcoming Store Events - October 2008
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month -- we will feature special PINK products in-store, with all proceeds going to the Susan G Komen Foundation. Additionally, we have a beautiful collection of gemstone bookmarks, made by Santa Fe jewelry Designer Malka Michelson. The proceeds from the sale of the bookmarks will be donated to the Christine Drumright Medical Fund. Christine is a dear friend and local textile designer/artist who is currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer.

Celeste Yacobini will join us for a demonstration of breast massage to promote breast health. This is a womens-only event and has limited seating; please call the shop at 505.992.6800 if you would like to attend. Celeste will also bring a selection of hydrosols for sampling and purchase as well. She is a fabulous therapist and delightful person and we look forward to her presentation!

The Santa Fe Farmer's Market is in full swing! At a temporary location, the New Mexico State Government PERA building parking lot, 1120 Paseo de Peralta, across from Kaune's while its new permanent digs at the Santa Fe Railyard are built, the market is rocking with tons of gorgeous fresh greens, produce, plants and local grass fed and organic meats.
Today, I grabbed up some lovely things for lunch -- right near the entrance is a vendor that sells the most fabulous quiche - Corn & Green Chile is a personal favorite. Today, they had these beautiful pre-made salads, with a quinoa salad sitting atop fresh greens and a little cup of dressing -- perfect for a summer lunch!
I also splurged on some galactic bread - roasted garlic and arugula along with a Grosso Lavender plant fresh from the Purple Adobe Lavender Farm in Abiquiu.
The Santa Fe Farmer's Market is open Saturday 7am - noon and is a worthwhile stop during a visit to Santa Fe. And, if you live in Santa Fe, it is a great way to support local farmers/producers and add some healthy locally grown food to your diet, which is certainly part of the spa lifestyle.

At long last -- the site is back up!! We ran into some unexpected challenges with our upgrade, but are happy to announce to all that we are back up and should have the special offer codes working tomorrow. Thank you for your patience!

Despite our best efforts to be back up and running yesterday, we have hit a few snags and will be delayed. The secure areas of the site are still being worked on and tested. We apologize for the delay, but we do want to make sure everything is working properly and checkout is secure before we bring the site back up.
We promise to extend our special coupon savings and we will be setting up some really great offers over the next few weeks when we are back up and running. Thank you.

This Friday, April 4, 2008 we welcome artist Lura M Brookins as our first exhibiting artist. Lura's beautiful plein air pastels of the landscapes of Northern New Mexico are quite lovely and we'll have a small collection on exhibit through April 30th. We will also have large matted prints available as well as some very sweet small prints framed with old barn wood, which nicely compliments the outdoor natural settings of Lura's work.
We will stay open from 5-7 for the art opening, serving light refreshments and wine. We will also have spa sampling available, highlighting the Desert Blends spa collection, which is a great compliment to this art.
Made from wildcrafted desert plants and natural plant oils, Desert Blends has the scent of sage and juniper, as well as the moisturizing and healing properties of botanicals found in the desert. We invite you to join us for this fun and festive evening event -- we hope to see you there!
Now Open!
Our Flagship Spabox Organic Apothecary boutique is now open in Santa Fe. We're very excited to have a brick and mortar space to share all of our wonderful products with those of you in Santa Fe and the surrounding areas. And, many of you contact us when you are coming to visit Santa Fe, asking for spa advice and if you can visit our store -- and now, you can!
The doors officially opened March 1st, and it's been wonderful meeting our customers and letting them try out products in our retail space.
We're located at 211 Galisteo Street, between Water & Alameda Streets, just one block south of Santa Fe's Plaza.
Everyone is telling us we're the best smelling store in Santa Fe, and we must say, we have to agree. Here, you'll find only products scented with pure essential oils -- no synthetic fragrance, synthetic colors, mineral oils or parabens.
Current hours are 11-5 Tuesday thru Sunday. Starting this Friday, we will be hosting First Friday events at our shop from 5-7pm. These First Friday events will continue throughout the summer season and will feature an artist opening, light refreshments, tea tastings and spa sampling.
More details to come on our "First" First Friday!
